However, the restaurant of Eduard Ros, a young lawyer who decided to leave the law, to dedicate himself to the kitchen, proposes a surprising culinary concept where the protagonists are a cook, a bar and good product. With space for only 10 diners, you will enjoy an extraordinary live gastronomic experience, without a fixed menu and based on the daily market cuisine. Slightly aniseed-flavoured sweet Coca, a Catalonian pastry, with anchovies from Santoña, prawns with sobrasada (a raw, cured sausage from the Balearic Islands), veal cheek stew in wine, steak tartar, Panna Cotta with truffle. Welcome to the new challenge of the well-known chef Carles Abellán, where with his spectacular restaurant located on the E floor of the Hotel W in Barcelona, he opens the doors to a paradise full of sea flavour, with a spectacular setting and recreating tasty, evolved seafood dishes. In fact, here diners can -in addition to occupying the bar stools-, sit at the tables or in what is undoubtedly one of the best terraces in the city. Be sure to try the garlic shrimp rice, the fried oysters with spicy salmon roe, the lacquered mackerel with sushi rice or the hedgehog with egg and caviar among other delicacies.

Inspired by the tiny bar-type restaurants of Japan, a couple of years ago the Catalan chef, Arnau Muñío, opened his own restaurant inside the archaic Barcelona market, La Boqueria. A bar, 9 diners, fresh produce and a mix of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine is what this artist proposes to the kitchen. He offers two tasting menus - of seven and ten dishes respectively, and two desserts -, accompanied by a surprising wine list. Some of his star dishes are the "Allipebre" ramen de raya, a sea and mountain vegetable of Maresme peas with seaweed, the "capipota" gyoza with oysters, kakigori of foie and rancid wine... And if you like, his famous grilled cheese cake with matcha tea to finish off.
